The Gaud\u00ed Palace in Astorga has signed an agreement with the Sagrada Familia. The agreement was made through a collaboration agreement between the expiatory temple and The Gaud\u00ed Way, a project that also includes the Casa Botines Museum and the Gaud\u00ed Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The director of the Gaud\u00ed Palace, V\u00edctor Murias attended the event on behalf of the monument and stated that “we reaffirm our collaboration with the Sagrada Familia for the celebration of the year 2026. We have had a very close relationship for years and we want to be united and join efforts and commitment to honor the figure of the recently declared servant of God Gaud\u00ed”. The other representatives who signed the agreement were Esteve Camps, president delegate of the Junta Constructora del Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia; Jos\u00e9 M\u00aa Viejo, general director of FUNDOS (the entity that manages the Casa Botines Museum); and Carlos Mirapeix, director of El Capricho de Gaud\u00ed. <\/p>\n\n

This event establishes an unprecedented framework for action for these four buildings, which together receive more than 5 million visitors a year. All of them have highlighted the positive impact that developing initiatives in a coordinated manner will have, especially with a view to the year 2026, when the centenary of Gaud\u00ed’s death will be commemorated and which has been declared a Year of Special Interest by the Ministry of Culture. Among the activities planned will be the exchange of temporary exhibitions, the lending and deposit of pieces, the co-production of cultural and scientific activities, and collaboration in educational and archival matters.<\/p>\n\n

The Gaud\u00ed Way, a project with social impact<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

The link between the Sagrada Familia and Gaud\u00ed’s Way is closely related to the fundamental concepts under which the latter is constituted. The project, which was born at the end of 2024, aims to establish synergies between the Gaud\u00ed Palace, the Casa Botines Museum and El Capricho as buildings linked by two internationally recognized icons: the figure of Gaud\u00ed and the Camino de Santiago, which runs in two of its versions through the territories of Cantabria, Le\u00f3n and Astorga (Camino del Norte and Camino Franc\u00e9s). <\/p>\n\n

Likewise, the lines of action that serve as an umbrella for the project are centered on three fundamental axes. On the one hand, the physical path, referring to the cultural journey that links the three museums. On the other hand, from the axis of knowledge we want to bring the figure of Gaud\u00ed closer to young people and children. Finally, the philanthropic axis aims to support children and young people’s talent in artistic and cultural disciplines through awards and scholarships.<\/p>\n\n

This alliance, to which the Sagrada Familia is added, will provide content of great interest to The Gaud\u00ed Way. Therefore, at the meeting following the signing of the agreement, the first measures were agreed upon, with the commitment to start some of them before the end of the year. Among them will be the hosting of an event to present The Gaud\u00ed Way at the Sagrada Familia, where the four allies will present their vision of Gaud\u00ed’s work from a global and integrating perspective.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
