A total of 102,084 people visited the Gaud\u00ed Palace in Astorga last year 2022. This figure yields positive numbers for the monument that are close to those recorded during 2019 (102,227). After the closure of the monument the first months of last year 2021, the Gaud\u00ed Palace has kept open the building and Museum of the Roads all twelve months.<\/p>\n
The data collected show that, in addition, 2.52% of the 102,084 visits were made with the family, with the specific visit that provides families with interactive tablets that, through games, puzzles and a secret to discover, show the monument designed by Gaud\u00ed in Astorga. Since last year, all visitors have had at their disposal the free, downloadable audio guide on their cell phones, available in five languages. <\/p>\n
In the monthly comparison, visitors to the monument increased every month of the year compared to 2021, with the exception of July, August, September and October, due to the fact that last year during the summer there was an increase in domestic travel due to the health restrictions imposed on travel because of the pandemic. August was the month that received the most visitors to the Gaud\u00ed Palace, with a total of 19,973 entries. A figure higher than the 19,570 entries recorded in the month of August 2019. “In general, visits to the Palace have been very well received. These are data with which we are very happy and proud to have exceeded 100,000 annual visits,” expresses the director of the Gaud\u00ed Palace, V\u00edctor Manuel Murias Borrajo. <\/p>\n
Throughout 2022, Gaud\u00ed’s Palace received 9,600 pilgrims, a figure that represents 9.4% of the total visits to the monument in this Jacobean Holy Year, which Pope Francis extended during the years 2021 and 2022. The monument was visited by 7,458 students and 11,529 people visited the monument in groups.
