The main objective of this new tool is to accompany, simplify and enrich the visit to the Gaudí Palace, one of the few and most unique buildings designed by the architect of Reus outside Catalonia. This building, located in the middle of the Jacobean route to Santiago de Compostela, also houses the Museum of the Ways. Its exhibition has just been renovated and can now be seen through this tool for all visitors.

The director of the building, Victor M. Murias, showed his joy at being able to show “this new project, innovative and at the forefront, which after a long time sees the light and is born in response to an objective that is to facilitate the visit to all those who come to know the Palace of Gaudí, using a versatile technological element, adapted to the different needs of visitors and make this emblem of Astorga a place accessible in every way accessible”.

The Bishop, Juan Antonio, also expressed his pleasure at this new initiative incorporated into the Episcopal Palace because it “enhances the value of this building even more than it already has; it adapts it to new technologies and helps people to understand it better, not only the external beauty, but also the inner spirit that moved the brilliant architect Gaudí to create this work of art”.

The new proposal is available in 3 languages, Spanish, English and French, and initially has 50 contents. All these contents have been adapted to the needs of the hearing and visually impaired, through subtitles in three languages, audio description for the visually impaired or visually impaired in Spanish and Spanish Sign Language videos. The guide has a wide variety of graphic resources, explanatory videos and historical images to complete the visit to this unique enclave.

The visitor will be able to choose the visit option that best suits his time and tastes, choosing between the 3 tours. The first offers an overview of the Gaudí Palace and the Museum of the Paths. The second focuses on the permanent exhibition of the Museum, related to the history of the Diocese of Astorga. Finally, the third tour focuses on the architecture of this unique building initiated by Antonio Gaudí and completed by the architect Ricardo García Guereta.

This interactive tool has incorporated the traditional function of the audio guides so that, alternatively, the user can access the different contents by pressing the numbers arranged on the signs along the route. In this way, the guide is more accessible to all audiences, regardless of their age or technological capabilities, leaving open the option of a visit completely adapted to the tastes of each user. The company GVAM Interactive Guides, specialized in the dissemination of cultural heritage through technology has developed this application, with the collaboration in the visual aspect of the company in charge of the museography of the monument. As pointed out by Jaime Solano, director of GVAM, after this implementation phase “one of the fundamental parts of this project will be the maintenance and updating of content, as well as research and development to incorporate new technological features that adapt to the capabilities and demands of all visitors”.

The new interactive audio guide includes 3 tour routes, audiovisual resources in 3 languages, and content accessible through subtitling, audio description and Spanish Sign Language.

[173
245,289,181,186,290,264,266,291,292,293,294
post-9222","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-astorga","tag-audio-guide","tag-gaudi","tag-gaudi-palace","tag-guide","tag-leon","tag-palace-2","tag-tablet","tag-tablets","tag-visit","tag-visit-with-tablet
["GET
