The month of May arrives at the Gaud\u00ed Palace in Astorga full of activities on the occasion of the centenary of the death of Antonio Gaud\u00ed, in a program that combines sport, culture and heritage to bring the monument closer to the citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposals start with two sporting events that connect the Palace with the life of the city. On Thursday, May 7, the building will be the finish line of the Vuelta Ciclista Femenina a Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>, on a symbolic route that links Casa Botines and the Gaud\u00ed Palace in Astorga, two of the architect’s most representative works outside Catalonia. For its part, on Sunday, May 10, the surroundings of the Palace will host the passage of the race 10K City of Astorga<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n Friday, May 15 will be one of the most important dates of the program, with the official presentation of the new night lighting of the Palace. The day will begin with a private ceremony at 8:30 p.m. for the blessing of the new gardens, which will be accompanied by the Sartaina Pipe Band. <\/p>\n\n In the evening, at 22:00 hours, the Eduardo de Castro square will be the scene of an event open to the public in which the new lighting of the building will be unveiled. The evening will be accompanied by the premiere of the work El arquitecto de Dios, by the composer David Rivas, performed by the Banda de Ense\u00f1anzas Profesionales del Conservatorio \u00c1ngel Barja. <\/p>\n\n
