Gaudí Palace recognizes the media as Ambassadors

The Gaudí Palace hosted this morning an institutional ceremony in which diplomas were awarded and various media from Astorga, León and Castilla y León were named Ambassadors of the Palace, in recognition of the constant work they do in the dissemination, projection and enhancement of the monument.

El Faro Astorgano, Astorga Digital, COPE Astorga, La 8 León, Agencia Ical, Diario de León, Onda Cero La Bañeza-Astorga, Día 7 and Benavente Digital-Televisión de Benavente attended to receive this appointment.

The directors of the aforementioned media were present at a meeting that was intended to be, above all, a gesture of gratitude to those who, with their daily work, turn the Palace’s news into a shared story and a nearby heritage. “You are our best ambassadors and the showcase to make Gaudí Palace known beyond the limits of the city of Astorga. That is why we want to start the month of March with this recognition. You deserve this title of Ambassadors of the Palace,” said the director of the monument, Víctor Murias.

March: Bishop Grau Month

The main cultural activities scheduled for the month of March, as part of the Centennial calendar, were also presented.

Among them is the presentation of the book “Juan Bautista Grau y Vallespinós: el obispo de Gaudí”, by Jairo Álvarez Fernández, which will take place on Friday, March 13, in the main hall of the Seminary. A work that delves into the figure of the prelate who promoted the Palace and his decisive relationship with Gaudí.

On Saturday, March 14, the Holy Week concert in the Gaudí Centenary will be held in the chapel of the Palace by the City of Astorga Choir “Excelsior”, an event that has already become part of the cultural calendar of the city.

On the morning of March 21, the unveiling of the sculpture dedicated to Bishop Grau will take place, in an act that will reinforce the memory and legacy of the man who made the construction of the building possible.

The program is completed by a week of music by teachers and students of the Professional Conservatory “Angel Barja” of Astorga, which will fill the Palace with sound and training, strengthening the collaboration with the cultural institutions of the city.

With this event and the program presented, the Gaudí Palace reaffirms its vocation of openness, collaboration and gratitude, especially to those who, from the media, contribute every day to publicize the monument of Astorga.
