The Hidden Palace is a complementary visit experience that allows access to areas of the Gaudí Palace that until recently were not part of the usual tour. Inaugurated on May 1, 2024, this proposal broadens the view of the building and offers new architectural and landscape perspectives.
A new way to discover the Palace

The Hidden Palace project arises from the process of restoration and enhancement of the monument promoted by the Bishopric of Astorga, with the support of the Junta de Castilla y León. Thanks to these interventions, the upper areas of the building and elements that were hidden from visitors have been recovered.
One of the most important milestones is the installation of a panoramic glass elevator , which allows comfortable access to the highest level of the Palace. This contemporary solution is integrated into the building while respecting its historical structure and recovers an idea that Antonio Gaudí already contemplated in the original plans and for which he left a hole in the center of the main staircase.
A growing experience
Since its opening, the Hidden Palace has had an excellent reception by the public and has established itself as a unique proposal within the visit to the Gaudí Palace. Tickets are currently available at the monument’s ticket office and the experience is available during regular opening hours.
