The Gaudí Palace of Astorga has appointed the Astorga Running sports association as Ambassadors of the Palace 2026, in recognition of their commitment to the dissemination of the monument and their ability to project its image beyond the city limits.
This year, the popular and multitudinous 10K City of Astorga race -one of the most important sporting events on the calendar- incorporates in a special way the name of the Gaudí Palace, thus strengthening the link between sport, heritage and community. Thanks to this initiative, the Palace is not only contemplated, but also run, shared and carried along with each kilometer.
The appointment as Ambassadors of the Palace recognizes precisely this gesture: to contribute to the legacy of Antonio Gaudí to remain present in new contexts and reach different audiences. The work of Astorga Running transcends sports to become a vehicle for cultural promotion, integrating the monument in a collective experience that combines effort, coexistence and pride in the city.
The 10K City of Astorga has established itself as an essential event that brings together hundreds of participants and visitors every year. In this edition, its symbolic alliance with the Palace reinforces the idea that heritage is not a static element, but a reality that dialogues with the present and finds new ways to be inhabited.
