Gaudí Palace exceeds the number of visitors in 2023

The Gaudí Palace received 119,452 visitors last year 2023. This is the highest figure reached by the monument in Astorga since its opening to the public in 1964 as the Museum of the Roads.

The data collected show that, in addition, 2,256 visits were made in family, with the specific visit that provides families with interactive tablets that, through games, puzzles and a secret to discover, show the monument designed by Gaudí in Astorga. In addition, visitors discovering the Palace have a free, downloadable audio guide on their cell phones, available in five languages, which has expanded the information offered to adapt to the new musealization of the noble floor implemented in early 2023.

In the monthly comparison, the number of visitors to the monument increased every month of the year compared to 2022. August was the month that received the most visitors to the Gaudí Palace, with a total of 23,372 entries. A figure higher than the 19,973 entries recorded in the month of August 2022. “In general, visits to the Palace have been very well received. These are data with which we are very happy and proud to remain above 100,000 visits per year,” says the director of the Gaudí Palace, Víctor Manuel Murias Borrajo.

Throughout 2023, Gaudí Palace received 11,435 pilgrims, a figure that represents 9.57% of the total visits to the monument this year. The monument was visited by 8,886 students and 13,551 people visited the monument in groups. The guided tours, more than 8,500 throughout the year, are the most highly rated by visitors.

As for the origin of the visitors, although it is not an exact figure, since due to the protection and privacy the data are extracted exclusively from purchases made through the website of the monument, the figures show that visitors from Spain are the most numerous, followed by entries from the Netherlands, Italy and France. As for the provinces of origin, with the information being worked, Madrid, León and Barcelona are the ones that brought the most visitors to the Gaudí Palace in 2023.
